Google AdWords Vs. SEO

During my 2 hour SEO workshop on Thursday the 25th of August 2016 I had 6 business owners looking to learn about search engine optimisation and keywords research. During our introduction, we were discussing the difference between Google AdWords and SEO.

If you are a new or existing business looking to increase traffic, brand awareness and generate new leads and sales, you have already exposed to Google AdWords. Google AdWords can be a powerful tool to target your online customers at the right time when they need your services or products.

Google AdWords has become very popular with new and existing businesses but the costs can be very expensive every month. Being a small business owner you are competing against the biggest guys on the block with a BIG budget that you cannot win. To be on the first page you will have to increase your Cost Per Click if Quality Score are not doing the trick.

How expensive can AdWords be?

As one of the business owner explained in the above video, Google Adwords can be very expensive.

Let’s say; you are spending $20 per day and times that by 3 separate campaigns for a broad range of your products or services, that’s $60 per day. You are looking at $1,680 per month for running your campaigns. For a new business like John, Google AdWords is very expensive, so he’s looking to invest into SEO for organic traffic. Why Opt for SEO for long term online marketing strategy?

Let’s say John invested $300 per month for 6 keywords with a decent volume of searches per month and less competition. His AdWords campaigns would cost him $1,680 per month and if he invested in SEO with the same amount, he could start seeing organic traffic within 6 months.

Should you go with AdWords or SEO?

You will need to invest in both options; AdWords for quick results and SEO for long term strategy where you will reap the rewards and help keep costs down and importantly grow your business.
